Led the design and implementation of a comprehensive Data Vault data warehouse for a $150B asset management firm. The resulting database contained over 1 TB of operational data containing security master, trading, pricing, and accounting data. The final model consisted of over 100 tables and SSIS packages, with a system for automatically refreshing the vault after changes to operational data.
Key achievements included scalability with ample room for growth, 99.9% data processing uptime, and reduced new data source integration time from weeks to days. The warehouse follows Data Vault methodology with Hubs (core business entities), Links (relationships and transactions), and Satellites (attributes and history). Technology stack: SQL Server 2017 with Always On Availability Groups, SSIS with custom Data Vault loading patterns, and Power BI for executive dashboards.
